Friends of Yimbo

In June 2020, Team Sprocket collaborated with Friends of Yimbo and D2L to organize the 13K Walk-It for Yimbo event. The primary objective was to raise awareness about children's challenges in Kenya and generate funds to enhance their access to educational technologies, support a new curriculum, and create new opportunities for the community. During the 13-kilometer walk, Team Sprocket, alongside other FRC teams like Walnut Valley Robotics, joined forces to symbolically cover the same distance many children in the village traverse daily to reach school. The event attracted over 100 participants, completing over 1,000 laps around the Diamond Bar High track. Over the past three years, this annual initiative has raised more than $2,000.
